The Box by Stephen King: Synopsis

The master of horror writing, Stephen King, found a box full of short stories and manuscripts belonging to his father. Nobody ever revealed what the box contained, or if this finding really affected King’s work. This is a tribute to Stephen King and his stories.

The tale “The story box” is about Steve, who finds the above mentioned box when he is still a child. From then on he has recurring dreams where he sees the stories that happen in his books, and by telling those stories he became a successful author. The story “The Grave Digger” is about a grave digger who is on the verge of retirement. He is a skinny and emaciated man, who has been digging Broad Hill’s dead people for more than 40 years, but has never even thought about his own death or who would bury him. It is not good to think about death. “The girl number 10” is about a married man who has several affairs with different women, till one day he meets the girl number 10. She is a beautiful model with long legs and big green eyes. But one day he finds the truth, when he goes on a date with her and they go together to a hotel room: She sheds her skin and her hands are claws. “Bad apples” is about a man called Tom, who loves his fruit trees, specially his apple trees in spring, when they are a feast of colors. He loves his apples and every single day he eats two of them. But one day he feels tired and he finds out that his nails are turning into roots and his joints get stiff. “In the worm’s mouth” is about a money lender in the nineteenth century, who counts his money every night. He is the tax collector in town because he owns many houses and he rents them. Every single night he counts his coins, he keeps them inside a safe deposit box, but one day he finds out that one coin is missing. He sees a slimy blob in the box. “The bogeyman is under the sheets” is about a boy called Danny, who is terrified. The bogeyman is not staying inside the wardrobe or under the bed any longer, he is sleeping now with him, under his sheets, every night. And he fears for his brothers’ lives. “All the things you have lost” is about a long trip by horse cart; there is a snow storm and the horses are galloping and gasping. Fate and bad luck decide that they have an accident, and the little boy Bobby Brown is trapped under the cart. His leg hurts, his mom is dead and his sister is pregnant. But Bobby suffers a sudden attack of appendicitis and his sister’s water breaks. Maverick, their father, and late Sue’s husband, has to face a difficult situation. “It’s time to say goodbye” is about a peculiar town where anyone who is going to die say goodbye to the family and go to the holy mountain, where their cemetery is and where nothing is what it seems. “Never say my name” is about a legend. Don’t look at me, don’t try to see me and never say my name. The legend says that if you see him and pronounce his name at the same time, he will come and engulf you and you will turn into a dark being. He will let your darker side out and the more you fear him, the more power he will have over you. But it is only a legend. The truth is that a man who has escaped from the psychiatric hospital is on the loose, at the mercy of his urge to kill. The psychopath is disguised as the “NoNameMan” and he is going to kill all the kids who come along his path. But the legend really exists, and finally the real “NoNameMan” manifests before him, terrifying him and engulfing him. The killer does not know his name, but he is so scared when he gets into his mind that he cuts his own throat to stop listening to the name.

  Author – Biography

I have always been influenced by Stephen King, the master of horror and drama. I am the author of a book about his early life as a writer. I have also written an anthology based on the box he found, a box belonging to his father, who was a writer too. Now I write horror novels, anthologies and thrillers. I have already published in Amazon several works: “Stephen King’s beginnings”, “Stephen King’s box”, “Tom’s story”, the zombie saga “Infected”, “Fear in the middle of the night”, “My entire life with you”, “Amie”, “Truck cemetery”, “Seven books, Seven sins” and “The castle watchman”. But they are not the only ones I intend to publish this year.
